As Attendance Officer, you will:

  • Monitor, analyse, and report on student attendance using our management systems (Arbor).
  • Communicate effectively with students, parents/carers, and staff to ensure a robust approach to attendance and punctuality.
  • Work closely with the AVP and Education Welfare Officer to design, implement, and evaluate attendance interventions.
  • Build positive relationships with families to support students where attendance is a concern, conducting home visits when necessary.
  • Collaborate with external agencies and the Local Authority where appropriate, including managing Fixed Penalty Notice referrals and CME procedures.
  • Provide accurate data and reports to inform SLT decisions and contribute to whole-school improvement.

About You

You will be an organised, approachable, and confident communicator who thrives on building relationships and making a difference. With strong attention to detail and a solution-focused mindset, you will be able to manage competing priorities, identify trends, and take initiative to improve outcomes. Experience in an educational setting and knowledge of attendance legislation and DfE guidance would be advantageous.
