The Role

We are seeking a dynamic, motivated and visionary Careers Coordinator to join our team and lead the strategic delivery of our careers education, information, advice and guidance (CEIAG) programme across the secondary school. As Careers Coordinator, you will be responsible for designing and delivering a comprehensive, inspiring and impactful careers programme that supports all our students from Year 7 to Year 13. This is a fantastic opportunity to shape students' futures by providing expert guidance on a wide range of pathways, including:

  • UCAS and Post-18 applications
  • Apprenticeships and technical routes
  • Employment and work-based opportunities
  • Career fairs, employer engagement, and workplace experiences
  • 1:1 personalised careers advice and guidance


You’ll work closely with students, staff, parents, employers, and external partners to create a vibrant and forward-thinking careers culture at Westminster Academy, in line with the Gatsby Benchmarks and Baker Clause requirements.


We’re seeking someone who is:

  • Passionate about helping young people realise their potential.
  • Knowledgeable about the full spectrum of post-16 and post-18 progression routes.
  • Experienced in delivering high-quality careers guidance in a school or similar setting.
  • Skilled at building partnerships with employers, higher education providers, and training organisations.
  • Organised, proactive, and an excellent communicator.
  • Level 6 or above in Careers Guidance (or willingness to work towards it) is highly desirable.

The working basis for this position Term Time + 1 week inset (Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week). This is an office-based role and will include school-wide activities and meetings.

  • We will verify your identity, qualifications, and professional registrations (e.g., QTS, TRA checks).
  • References will be requested and verified, including a reference from your current or most recent employer.
  • We will also check for any sanctions or restrictions imposed by professional bodies.
  • A professional social media check will take place to reduce risks to reputation, confidentiality breach and data security. The check identifies a candidate's online presence to look for negative behaviours such as bullying, racism, nudity and excessive bad language.
